While on one of their frequent walks talking (lovingly!) about their teenage sons, Kristin and Mary realized they have a lot in common: love for good coffee, wine, food, and most importantly, community. The idea for The Reading Room was born.

Kristin Radcliffe
Inspired by years of international travel, Kristin’s elegant but approachable style can be seen in our custom cocktails, fabulous book arch, and the many details that make The Reading Room feel like a peaceful escape. Her deep love for community and people (she never meets a stranger) makes her the consummate hostess, and she’s thrilled to welcome you to The Reading Room as our guest.
Mary Tveit
Full of laughter and an indefatigable desire to make a positive impact on her community, Mary Tveit brings an eye for design to The Reading Room. In addition to co-founding The Reading Room, Mary is also the founder of SolDesign, a boutique agency that specializes in helping social good and B2B clients use marketing and technology to elevate their messages.

Founded by husband and wife team Heather and Mathieu Jourdan-Gassin, Saint Germain French Cafe & Bakery opened in Old Fourth Ward’s historic Ponce City Market in 2016. Saint Germain provides delicious pastries and cakes to The Reading Room.
Avant Partir
Amanda Kimbrough of Avant Partir is The Reading Room’s exclusive wine distributor. Amanda worked hand-in-hand with Kristin and Mary on the all-female wine list for opening.
ARTEAO
Arteao is the exclusive matcha provider to The Reading Room. Arteao Ceremonial Matcha is an authentic matcha from Kyoto Japan. Women-owned and operated, Aki Howley and her husband’s company is headquartered in Durham, North Carolina.

BaddaBing Catering
BaddaBing Catering is located in Decatur, Georgia, and provides organizations, friends, and family with a range of globally inspired dishes for events large and small. Chef Michael Condon helped design and curate The Reading Room menu, while his wife and co-owner, Tanya Tveit, is responsible for the incredible floral design. The two have also given Mary and Kristin hours of their time consulting on all aspects of running a restaurant – they are also co-owners of Santo and Calle Latina.
Eat, Drink and Be Happy - Scott Reiner
Scott Reiner is a wine and lifestyle consultant located in New York City. Scott introduced Kristin and Mary to Amanda at Avant Partir and helped curate the wine list. His deep knowledge of wine, champagne, liquor, and fabulous food makes him a formidable companion in travel and culinary adventures.
Sol Design Company
Co-owner Mary Tveit’s brand and design agency, Sol, has been a part of The Reading Room’s journey from day one. From logo design to photography to menu design to copywriting, the Sol team’s creative prowess powers all things design and marketing at The Reading Room.
